Brumaire: 2008

An early version of this work appeared during October 2007 under the title Brumaire. Since then the listed contents have incorporated amended material into this current arrangement. The very act of revising ‘Brumaire’ provided an opportunity to present its original intent, once again, in an entirely different form. The documentation requires that the projected images be accompanied by the simultaneous playing of the audio material provided within the vinyl recording of spoken word texts. The entirety of the documentation makes no claim to be a self contained work but instead presents itself in the form of images, soundtrack, books and observations which are to be simultaneously experienced as film is seen and heard within a cinema. This object may be regarded as an exact description of a film, a detailed examination of an audio-visual whole that would be too rapid to be studied during its actual projection but, nonetheless would be experienced, primarily, as a sensual incident.
